For most people, pain is an isolated and temporary condition that can be routinely treated and relieved. But for some, pain is much more complex. Chronic pain (the type of pain that lingers even after tissue damage has healed) can be so debilitating and overwhelming that it can lead to stress, anxiety, and depression. These disorders can literally change a person's life - affecting everything from job performance to personal relationships.

It's in these complex cases that a more comprehensive, multidimensional remedy is needed. These cases call for an integrated, interdisciplinary approach designed specifically for the individual patient.  Such an approach addresses the needs of the whole person...in terms of mind, body, and spirit.

Founded in 1979 as the Pain and Rehabilitation Institute, The Doleys Clinic is a privately owned and operated clinic in suburban Birmingham, Alabama.  The state-of-the-art facility accepts self referrals as well as referrals from physicians, employers, and third-party payors on a local, regional, and national basis.
Do you, or does someone you know, deal with pain on a daily basis?
Most of our patients suffer from subacute or chronic pain, and have exhausted the more common avenues of management such as traditional medications, epidural blocks, or surgery.  While  a large percentage of our patients have experienced spinal-related injuries, our broad-based staff and capabilities enable us to address a wide variety of disorders including head trauma, fibromyalgia, various phobias, post-traumatic stress disorder, violence in the workplace, and certain types of addiction - just to name a few.

Our evaluation and therapy programs have been utilized by patients, insurance companies and other organizations in a broad geographic area. We have been involved with patients from all across Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Mississippi, California, South Carolina, Florida, Arkansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Wisconsin and Michigan. Patients' health care coverage varies from worker's compensation to third party carriers and self pay.
Many people with chronic pain are too busy worrying about their pain to live their life.

Our goal is to help you become too busy living your life to worry about your pain.
